Overview

A Barista Greets customers, Takes order and creates quality engagement with all Customers. Performs support tasks, such as pre-preparation, cooking, serving, cashiering, cleaning, dishwashing, and retrieval/or delivery to enable cooks, nutrition assistants, and supervisors to complete their work assignments. Promotes the culture, Mission Vision and values of NAH. Provide excellent coffee and communicate with customers. Participates in Weekly Fun Activities, such as Trivia, Taste Samples of new products and creativity in organic, specialty drinks. Is a great multi-tasker and able to perform different tasks at the same time. Training available and excellent on-boarding process.

Responsibilities

Food Preparation
* Makes sure all food items needed for the line are prepared in a timely manner according to recipes, guidelines of preparation, guidelines of presentation, and are stored during preparation and during serving times at appropriate temperatures that are within defined ranges.

* Makes sure food items needed for next day are started for preparation and/or are prepared.

* Operates equipment in work area following established procedures.

* Follows Starbuck recipes at all times when making drinks.

* Makes sure assigned food stations are refilled during busy times and before taking breaks.

* Makes sure to refill food storage area, paper/Styrofoam supply areas, napkin holders, condiment holders, silverware holders, cup holders, trays, etc.

* Makes sure work areas and equipment are cleaned, sanitized, and maintained in good working manner.

* Occasionally cooks food for patients, visitors, and staffs.


Sanitization/Safety
* Accurately follows Health Department mandates on cold and warm temps every 2 hours according to requirements.

* Completes assigned cleaning and sanitation tasks which include thorough sweeping and mopping under equipment.
Finance
* Accurately count bank and run touch screen cash register. Reporting positive and negative errors of $5.00 or more.

* Create at least one new item a week in an effort to increase revenue annually by 5%.


Compliance/Safety
* Responsible for reporting any safety-related incident in a timely fashion through the Midas/RDE tool; attends all safety-related training programs; performs work in a safe manner; monitors work environment for possible safety issues and ensures others are also performing work in a safe manner.

* Stays current and complies with state and federal regulations/statutes and company policies that impact the employee's area of responsibility.

* If required for the position, ensures all certifications and/or licenses are up-to-date and valid prior to expiration dates.

* Completes all company mandatory modules and required job-specific training in the specified time frame.

Qualifications

Education
High School Diploma or GED, or qualifying experience- Required

 


Certification & Licensures
Food Handler's Certificate from applicable Health Department within 30 days of employment- Required

Food Manager's Food Safety Certificate- Required

 


Experience
1 year Food Service or Barista experience- Preferred

Healthcare is a rapidly changing environment and technology is integrated into almost all aspects of patient care. Computers and other electronic devices are utilized across the organization and throughout each department. Colleagues must have an understanding of computers, and competence in using computers and basic software programs.
