The Maintenance Technician 2 maintains Northern Arizona Healthcare (NAH) buildings, grounds, equipment, and utilities as directed. S/He performs hospital maintenance as required by the preventative maintenance program, or as directed. This maintenance includes: plumbing, masonry, carpentry, painting, and light construction. Maintains records as appropriate and prepares requisitions as required for assignments. S/He will assist the others as may be required in specific repairs. When applicable, performs Groundskeeper's duties. Mentors the Maintenance Technician 1.
Operations
* Demonstrates knowledge of computer skills (email), work order system(s), and internet navigation.
* Demonstrates the ability to use basic tools and diagnostic equipment.
* Demonstrates the ability to read and follow the instructions on manuals and safety data sheets.
* Demonstrates the ability to work in cold and wet weather during snow removal.
* Demonstrates the ability to maintain a clean work site, responsibly manage tools, equipment, vehicles and maintain common work areas to department expectations.
* Demonstrates the ability to adjust their schedule to accommodate the needs of the hospital, including on-call when after-hours work is required.
* Completes and documents assigned work orders and repair calls in a timely manner so as to minimize any negative impact upon the patient care environment.
* Performs repairs and modifications to facility equipment and property structures.
* Safely operates snow removal equipment and other motor vehicles.
* Coordinates equipment relocation and office moves.
Code Response
* Demonstrates the ability to remain calm and perform duties when responding to code calls.
* Demonstrates knowledge of hospital layout and department names.
* Assists in controlling fires and both internal and external disasters.
Mentor
* Mentors the Maintenance Technician 1.
Compliance/Safety
* Responsible for reporting any safety-related incident in a timely fashion through the Midas/RDE tool; attends all safety-related training programs; performs work in a safe manner; monitors work environment for possible safety issues and ensures others are also performing work in a safe manner.
* Stays current and complies with state and federal regulations/statutes and company policies that impact the employee's area of responsibility.
* If required for the position, ensures all certifications and/or licenses are up-to-date and valid prior to expiration dates.
* Completes all company mandatory modules and required job-specific training in the specified time frame.
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)- Required
Trade Apprenticeship, Trade School, or 5 years of equivalent experience -Required
Certification & Licensures
OSHA 10- Preferred
Experience
Minimum 4 years building maintenance or applicable trade experience- Required
Healthcare is a rapidly changing environment and technology is integrated into almost all aspects of patient care. Computers and other electronic devices are utilized across the organization and throughout each department.
