Overview

The Director of Respiratory and Vascular Services is responsible for reporting to the CVSL Administrator and will work closely with the Medical Director of Pulmonary services. Areas of oversight will include, RT staff at both campuses, Neuro, PFT lab, creation and management of interdisciplinary VAT team for NAH, financial, operational, capital equipment requirement, policy creation, cost savings initiatives and will work closely with the administrator on strategic planning.

Responsibilities

Department Management & Leadership
* Demonstate the ability to relfect the values of NAH and be a positive role model for all employees.

* Utlizie collaboration, communication and negotiatlion skills in order to motivate and ensure staff morale.

* Actively coordinate, implement and prote departmental performance improvement activities.

* Work in collaboartion with the medical director and other leaders to support and develop the RT departments goals and standards.

* Demonstrate initiative, innovation, and adapts to a changing environment and ambiguity.

* Assesses, measures, and continuously improves the quality and safety measures.

* Ensures department and staff are consistently prepared for site/unit visits – (i.e.: DNV, ADHS, internal audits, hazardous surveillance rounds).

* Oversees performance management of employees.

* Responsible for discipline and termination of employees, ensuring incidents are documented and corrective steps are taken.

* Collaborates, leads, and engages staff in departmental and organizational initiatives.

* Investigates and addresses patient complaints and grievances.

* Responsible for hiring, training, and maintaining staff for all RT and VAT needs.


 
Fiscal Management
* Plan and develop annual capital and operating budgets

* Perform monthly reivews of budgets

* Ensure daily/weekly/monthly producutivty

* Develop action plans if needed;if not meeting targets


 
Respiratory/VAT Services Operations
* Provide direction to manager(s), supervisor who oversee performance and quality improvememtn measures

* Evaluate the needs of future space development, work with CVSL administrator on remodleing and projections

* Manage employee recruitment, retention and staffing to appropriate levels and ensure patient/customer

* satisfaction.

* Conduct regular meetings with staff and management, report progress on initiatives and program growth.

* If required for position, ensures all certifications and/or licenses are up-to-date and valid prior to expiration dates.

* Completes all company mandatory modules and required job specific training in the specified time frame.

* Responsible for reporting any safety related incident in a timely fashion through the Midas/RDE tool; attends all safety related training programs; performs work in a safe manner; monitors work environment for possible safety issues and ensures others are also performing work in a safe manner.

* Responsible for maintaining up-to-date knowledge of cybersecurity trends, developments, best practices and regulatory changes.


 
Compliance/Safety
* Responsible for reporting any safety-related incident in a timely fashion through the Midas/RDE tool; attends all safety-related training programs; performs work in a safe manner; monitors work environment for possible safety issues and ensures others are also performing work in a safe manner.

* Stays current and complies with state and federal regulations/statutes and company policies that impact the employee's area of responsibility.

* If required for the position, ensures all certifications and/or licenses are up-to-date and valid prior to expiration dates.

* Completes all company mandatory modules and required job-specific training in the specified time frame.

Qualifications

Education
Bachelors Degree - Required


Experience
Five or more years of RT experience leading a team - Required

 

Experience in creating programs as it relates to the field - Required

 

Vascular access experience in both development, insertion and training programs - Required

 

Healthcare experience in either academic or acute care setting - Required

 

Experience in optimum deployment of care givers and administrative resources - Preferred


Certification & Licensures
BLS (American Heart Assoc.) – Required


ACLS (American Heart Assoc.) – Required


VABC - Preferred
