Overview

The Benefits Administrator role is a senior role on the benefits team. S/he monitors benefit vendors for accuracy with enrollment and billing. This rolesupports the Benefits Manager in compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations and ensuring the timeliness and accuracy of requiredreporting and other regulated tasks. The Benefits Administrator is responsible for keeping benefit documents and policies up to date as well asmaintaining the benefits page on the colleague portal.
This position's work location is remote only.

Responsibilities

Administration
* Serves as a primary contact along with the Benefits Manager for plan vendors and third-party administrators. Resolves administrative problems withvendor representatives. Participates in monthly vendor meetings with the Benefits Manager.
* Coordinates the transfer of data to external contacts for services, premiums and plan administration. Processes billing and verifies thecalculation/accuracy of monthly premium statements and maintains statistical data relative to premiums, claims and costs.
* Assists the Benefits Manager with obtaining information needed for benefit renewals and RFPs. Participates in RFP meetings and the decisionmaking process.
Benefits Team Support
* Provides training, guidance and second level support to the Benefits Coordinators.
* Works with the Benefits team to evaluate and revise internal processes, documentation and policies. Develops solutions for ease of processing andcommunications.
* Provides backup support to the Benefits Manager as needed.
Benefits Communication
* Develops communication tools and the colleague portal to enhance understanding of NAH's benefits package. Designs materials for benefitorientations and open enrollment. Makes adjustments to the benefit enrollment system in coordination with the Benefits Manager and HRIS.
* Maintains the benefit enrollment system in coordination with the Benefits Manager. Communicates with the enrollment system vendor on changesand enrollment issue resolution.
ERISA Compliance
* Maintains general knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements affecting employee benefit programs,including ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, Workers' compensation, Medicare, Social Security and DOL requirements.
* Assists Benefits Manager with compliance testing and benefit reporting requirements. Ensures timeliness and accuracy of required reporting andfees. Collect data necessary to complete government compliance activities (5500s, PCORI, etc.)
* Supports and/or leads special projects required to keep NAH benefit plans compliant with changing regulations.
Compliance/Safety
* Responsible for reporting any safety related incident in a timely fashion through the Midas/RDE tool; attends all safety related training programs;performs work in a safe manner; monitors work environment for possible safety issues and ensures others are also performing work in a safe manner.
* Stays current and complies with state and federal regulations/statutes and company policies that impact the employees area of responsibility.
* If required for position, ensures all certifications and/or licenses are up-to-date and valid prior to expiration dates.
* Completes all company mandatory modules and required job specific training in the specified time frame.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree or 6 years of equivalent benefits administration experience - Required.
Certification & Licensures
PHR/SPHR Certification- Preferred

Healthcare is a rapidly changing environment and technology is integrated into almost all aspects of patient care. Computers and other electronicdevices are utilized across the organization and throughout each department. Colleagues must have an understanding of computers, and competencein using computers and basic software programs.
