The Access Control Specialist is responsible for the maintenance, development and implementation of the current and new security systems to provide personal safety for all persons on hospital premises.
Electronic Access Control
* Maintains the hardcopy books, manuals and personally developed data bases relating to Access Control.
* Maintains and troubleshoots all applicable system software as it relates to access control.
* Performs general preventive maintenance on all access control devices.
* Attends construction/all other meetings as assigned to start the design process of access systems for the safety and security of the facility.
* Attends access control trainings provided by vendors.
* Assists in the in-service training for systems and products installed at offsite locations as well as onsite.
Mechanical Access Control
* ssues keys and changes codes for physical locks.
* Maintains the KS-600 key database.
* Issue keys per request and take in all returned keys.
* Re-keys cores due to lost, stolen or unreturned keys, or at the request of dept management at their discretion.
* Prepares key schedules/installation coordination for new construction projects.
* Perform general preventive maintenance on access control devices.
* Coordinate with outside vendors.
* Attends construction and all other necessary meetings as assigned to begin and implement the design and installation process of access control systems for the safety and security of the facility.
* Assists in the in-service training for systems and products installed at offsite locations as well as onsite.
Surveillance Camera Systems
* Performs all necessary maintenance issues and record keeping of all surveillance camera systems (Digital and Analog).
* Performs general preventive maintenance on access control devices.
* Coordinates with outside vendors regarding surveillance systems.
* Attends construction and all other meetings as assigned to begin and implement the design and installation process of surveillance systems to provide increased safety and security of the facility and its assets.
* Attends access control training.
* Performs many other duties which include unlocking of vehicles, maintenance of existing door hardware (Simplex systems, etc.), cabinet hardware, panel hardware, obtaining keys and copies of keys for various uses and organizations, entrance into locked items through “lock picking” techniques, covert surveillance operations, etc.
Compliance/Safety
* Responsible for reporting any safety related incident in a timely fashion through the Midas/RDE tool; attends all safety related training programs; performs work in a safe manner; monitors work environment for possible safety issues and ensures others are also performing work in a safe manner.
* Stays current and complies with state and federal regulations/statutes and company policies that impact the employees area of responsibility.
* If required for position, ensures all certifications and/or licenses are up-to-date and valid prior to expiration dates.
* Completes all company mandatory modules and required job specific training in the specified time frame.
Education
High School Diploma or GED- Required
Certification & Licensures
Valid Arizona Driver's License with no moving violations within the prior 36 months- Required
BLS (American Heart Assoc.) certification- Required (within 90 days of hire)
Experience
Experience in one of the following two areas: locksmith or surveillance- Required
Healthcare is a rapidly changing environment and technology is integrated into almost all aspects of patient care. Computers and other electronic devices are utilized across the organization and throughout each department.
