Overview

The Community Relations Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining positive relationships between Northern Arizona Healthcare and the communities we serve. This position focuses on enhancing NAH’s reputation, promoting services and brand awareness, and ensuring NAH fosters community engagement and positive public sentiment by remaining active in the communities it serves. The Community Relations Manager is responsible for integrating community engagement throughout the leadership team and the organization and partners with many people and departments.

Responsibilities

Community Engagement
* Organize and coordinate multi-faceted community outreach programs and health-related events

* Build and maintain relationships with community leaders, non-profit organizations and other stakeholders and groups

* Represent NAH at community events, meetings and conferences.

* Create relationships with community members, becoming a positive and friendly presence who is associated with the NAH brand

 
Communications
* Develop and distribute internal and external communications about community initiatives

* Manage social media content related to community engagement

* In conjunction with Public Relations Specialist and Marketing Manager, work with media outlets to highlight community partnerships, draft news releases, build relationships with media partners

* Contribute to NAH Communications goals and objectives

 
Program Management
* Collaborate with NAH Office of Philanthropy, Employee Experience, Medical Staff Services, Health Equity, Population Health, and others to plan and manage NAH’s community presence

* Promote colleague engagement with the community

* Create and manage appealing event tables including appropriate promotional and educational items, activities and subject matter experts as needed

* Supervise direct reports in community engagement activities

 
Strategic Planning
* Contribute to the development of community relations strategies aligned with organizational goals

* Identify opportunities for community partnerships and collaborations

* Monitor and report on the impact of community relations activities, including those conducted by other NAH departments

 
Compliance/Safety
* Responsible for reporting any safety-related incident in a timely fashion through the Midas/RDE tool; attends all safety-related training programs; performs work in a safe manner; monitors work environment for possible safety issues and ensures others are also performing work in a safe manner.

* Maintains confidentiality of all department, patient, and employee matters.

* Completes all company mandatory modules and required job-specific training within the specified time frame.

* Stays current and complies company policies that impact the employee's area of responsibility.

Qualifications

Education
Bachelor’s Degree in business, marketing, public relations, communications, or related field - Required
Master's Degree in marketing, public relations, communications, or other related field - Preferred
 
Experience
Ten (10) years of experience in community relations with increasing responsibilities and project oversight –
Required
Customer Relationship Management, or Data Management experience – Required
Experience in a leadership role, including leading, managing, coaching and developing professionals –
Preferred
Prior work experience within the health care industry – Preferred
Health care is a rapidly changing environment and technology is integrated into almost all aspects of patient
care. Computers and other electronic devices are utilized across the organization and throughout each
department. Colleagues must have an understanding of computers, and competence in using computers and
basic software programs.
 
Certification & Licensures
Valid Arizona driver's license and personal vehicle in order to travel to locations within the health system as
needed.
