This is a Hybrid Remote position - minimum of 2 onsite work days per week required

 

 

 

This position provides system-wide leadership (both acute and non-acute) to drive supply chain cost reduction across the system assuring achievement of the Supply Chain Strategic Initiative goals. This position directs and leads the overall strategy, development and implementation of all clinical cost improvement plans for assigned service lines. Leads multi-disciplinary teams, including physician value analysis teams, to decrease product use variation and costs through the development of consensus supply utilization programs and initiatives. Responsible for clinical and related operational financial performance improvements and outcomes in the areas of Perioperative Services, Cardiology, Cardiac Cath/EP Lab, Women’s and Infant Services, Interventional Radiology and various procedural areas.

Responsibilities

Leadership
* Provides system-wide clinical leadership and consultation to company facilities in the utilization of supplies, products, and equipment for assigned service line.

* Leads multi-disciplinary teams, including physician value analysis teams, to decrease product use variation and costs through the development of consensus supply utilization programs and initiatives.
 
Communication
* Communicates with risk management on product recalls and FDA alert notices and acts as a resource for the medical staff, legal, and hospital departments as necessary.

* Promotes positive interpersonal connections with System leadership, employees and colleagues and other system leaders, physicians, patients, and customers .
 
Value Analysis
* Performs initial clinical assessments of new products and equipment to determine clinical efficacy and potential cost/benefit to company. Gathers product information and introduces targeted new products, services, and equipment to the Supply Chain Management team. Directs the creation and implementation of organizational supply standards.

* Provides technical and clinical skills, support and knowledge in the product selection process. Facilitates validation, evaluation and final recommendations by the value analysis teams, physician value analysis teams, clinical discipline team, physician clinical consensus groups, and other clinicians and operations staff involved in the product selection process.

* Supports the general purchasing organization and vendor relationship to achieve quality, cost-effective solutions in conjunction with business representatives and company staff, coordinates new product in-service education and clinical product validations and evaluations.

* Prepares, distributes, collects and tabulates product evaluation/validation forms and provides feedback to Supply Chain Management, values analysis teams, physicians, and clinicians.
 
Contract Support
* Supports contract professionals in review and renewal of group purchasing organization (GPO) and local supply contracts to improve standardization, cost, and utilization.

* Supports win-win negotiations with suppliers.
 
Compliance/Safety
* Responsible for reporting any safety-related incident in a timely fashion through the Midas/RDE tool; attends all safety-related training programs; performs work in a safe manner; monitors work environment for possible safety issues and ensures others are also performing work in a safe manner.

* Stays current and complies with state and federal regulations/statutes and company policies that impact the employee's area of responsibility.

* If required for the position, ensures all certifications and/or licenses are up-to-date and valid prior to expiration dates.

* Completes all company mandatory modules and required job-specific training in the specified time frame.

* Maintains current professional and technical knowledge relating to the healthcare market by attending educational workshops/conferences, reviewing professional publications, establishing a professional network, and participating in professional societies.

Qualifications

Education
High School Diploma or GED- Required
Bachelor's Degree in nursing, business, or related field or equivalent experience- Required
 
Certification & Licensures
Active, unrestricted, Arizona RN License or valid, participating compact license- Required
 
Experience
5 years of substantial nursing experience in Medical/Surgical, Operating Room, Cath lab, Respiratory and/or Pediatrics, depending upon the assigned service line- Required

Healthcare is a rapidly changing environment and technology is integrated into almost all aspects of patient care. Computers and other electronic devices are utilized across the organization and throughout each department. Colleagues must have an understanding of computers, and competence in using computers and basic software programs.
