EntireCare is looking for lead therapist that is looking to grow as a leader and provider of patient care. This challenging position requires a desire to serve those around, a bias for problem solving, and ownership of outstanding patient experience and support of the clinical team. At Northern Arizona Healthcare, we look for colleagues to lead by example, develop organizational relationships, and demonstrate adaptability. A lead therapist will been involved in a broader set of departmental decision making, collaboration across clinics and disciplines, and leadership develop and training.

 

 

The lead therapist functions as a treating therapist within the clinics. S/He has a leadership role in orienting new staff, coordinates staff schedules, clinical site coordinator and acts as a supervisor in the Outpatient Treatment Center's or department in manager's absence. S/He is responsible for assisting the manager/director to assure the staffing levels are safe and appropriate for patient care needs in accordance with federal, state and NAH guidelines for rehabilitation services.

Responsibilities

Patient Care
* Evaluates the patient by performing chart review, interpreting tests and measurements appropriate to discipline and patient diagnosis.

* Performs treatments and patient care activities in a timely manner following appropriate protocols and guidelines.
 
Staff Supervision
* Participates in managing department assigned cost center yearly budget.

* Supports department communication lines through the use of huddles, department meetings and quarterly retreats.

* Coordinates staff work schedules.

* Monitors the appropriateness of the staffing level and mix based on patient care needs and productivity targets.

* Monitors staff for completion of assigned tasks.

* Assists in hiring, orientation and training of new staff to the Rehabilitation Department.

* Completes timely evaluations using objective criteria and gives input to manager/director in corrective actions.
 
Care Management
* Participates in patient care conferences with other related health services, patient, and family to review patient's progress and evaluate goals.

* Develops appropriate plan of care that include goals and home instructions in conjunction with other team members, patient and family.

* Delegates selected treatment to supportive personnel with assumption of responsibility for care of patient and continuing supervision of supportive personnel.
 
Documentation
* Plans specific measures to meet assessed learning needs and documents in patient record.

* Recognizes and addresses patient, family, and appropriate others in the learning needs of the individual.

* Presents information clearly and in a manner appropriate to the level of patient and family understanding.

* Implements the treatment plan and evaluates and records the patient responses to the treatment sessions.

* Participates in the development of individual discharge plans that are responsive to patient/family concerns.

* Able to revise/update plan based on assessment.

* Completes documentation within the G-codes and billing per department policy.
 
Education
* Acts as a resource person to peers within the rehabilitation department, fielding questions, mentoring, or providing educational opportunities.

* Acts as a liaison/partners with other educational institutions/groups/organizations to enhance professional development.
 
Compliance/Safety
* Responsible for reporting any safety-related incident in a timely fashion through the Midas/RDE tool; attends all safety-related training programs; performs work in a safe manner; monitors work environment for possible safety issues and ensures others are also performing work in a safe manner.

* Stays current and complies with state and federal regulations/statutes and company policies that impact the employee's area of responsibility.

* If required for the position, ensures all certifications and/or licenses are up-to-date and valid prior to expiration dates.

* Completes all company mandatory modules and required job-specific training in the specified time frame.

* Completes charges in a timely manner and according to proper procedures.

* Meets productivity goals according to departmental standards.

* Responds to new orders promptly in compliance with department policy.

* Adheres to regulatory and organizational standards affecting patient care and safety as well as all hospital and departmental.

* Develop agendas and lead monthly departments meetings to address needed issues such as compliance, safety, quality, and people.

* Attend quarterly advance department meetings; responsible for 100% of department meeting content including reviewing minutes, asking questions as needed, and reviewing handouts.

Qualifications

Education
Bachelor's Degree- Required
Master's/DPT- Preferred
 
Certification & Licensures
Current license in the State of Arizona- Required
BLS (American Heart Association) - Required upon date of hire.
Fingerprint Clearance Card application number- Required upon hire
Fingerprint Clearance Card- Required within 90 days of hire

Employee will obtain and maintain appropriate clinical competencies for the roles assigned by their departmental leader.
 
Experience
1 to 3 years- Required
1 to 3 years Supervisory- Preferred

Healthcare is a rapidly changing environment and technology is integrated into almost all aspects of patient care. Computers and other electronic devices are utilized across the organization and throughout each department. Colleagues must have an understanding of computers, and competence in using computers and basic software programs.
