The Echo Technician 2 performs testing procedures consisting of Adult Echocardiagrams, Stress Echo Treadmill, TEE, Electrocardiographs and/or Pediatric Echocardiagram as required by facility with supervision of Director. S/he may provide service to patients, from neonatal, child, adolescent, adult and geriatric populations.
Patient Care * Demonstrates the ability to prioritizes orders according to medical necessity. |
Data Integrity * Identifies correct patient chart by verification of correct Cardiology number and MRN. * Verifies correct procedure by schedule book or by contacting ordering physician. * Completes necessary pre-test paperwork with all identification and information needed by reading physician. * Ensures accurate technical data is aquired, recorded, and prepared for interpretation. * Ensures proper charges are generated for completes procedures. |
Operations * Demonstrates knowledge of proper procedure in care of equipment for cardio procedures qualified to perform. * Recognizes and reports unusual occurrences to the appropriate supervisor. * Demonstrates ability to assist physicians and staff. * Provides physicians with requested information. * Provides testing procedures in a timely manner. |
Education * Demonstrates knowledge of designated testing procedures and related handling of acquired data specific to: electrocardiographic, procedure and machine care; pacemaker - check equipment, procedures and care; patient instructions and machine care, screening/arrhythmia detection. * Demonstrates knowledge of two-dimentional and m-mode echocardiographic procedures. * Performs all calculations and measurements in preparation for interpretation of data. * Performs pediatric echos. * Demonstrates knowledge of anatomy and physiology of the cardiovascular system. |
Compliance/Safety * Responsible for reporting any safety-related incident in a timely fashion through the Midas/RDE tool; attends all safety-related training programs; performs work in a safe manner; monitors work environment for possible safety issues and ensures others are also performing work in a safe manner. * Stays current and complies with state and federal regulations/statutes and company policies that impact the employee's area of responsibility. * If required for the position, ensures all certifications and/or licenses are up-to-date and valid prior to expiration dates. * Completes all company mandatory modules and required job-specific training in the specified time frame. |
