The Data Analytics Engineering Manager is accountable for the day-to-day operations of the NAH Data Engineering, Data Quality Services, and Architecture team, and the successful delivery of all responsibilities and projects assigned to the team. This role services as the organization's primary leader with regards to Analytics and Data Management, responsible for aligning the organization's data strategy to NAH's Vision and Goals, and implementing said strategy through cross-functional engagement with NAH leaders.
The Data Analytics Engineering Manager will lead a team specialized in the art of driving enterprise healthcare data used for analytic services, setting goals for team members, partnering with team members in their own career development and conducting regular performance coaching.
Critical to success of this position is a proven ability to dissect corporate goals, establishing and executing an operational plan of attack, across organizational boundaries. The ability to process at both the strategic and tactical levels, thinking abstractly and being able to effectively communicate with both clinical/business stakeholders, as well as technical analysts and system administrators, will have a direct impact on the effectiveness and efficiency of this role.
People Leadership * Model leadership traits and customer service behaviors, through interactions with both internal and external customers, partners and suppliers. * Manage a cross-functional group of intelligence analysts, solution architects and program managers around the best practices for the organization, involving analytics, reporting, data integrity and clinical/business problem solving. * Define measurement criteria for organizational goals and objectives, tied to the NAH Vision and Balanced Scorecard, with cascading process -level metrics and leading indicators. * Develop strong technical competencies related to data management principles; including engineering, data governance, and platform services that support the Business Intelligence teams. * Effectively manage team performance and expectations to support our business teams. * Build and maintain an effective team to support the core functions of data management. |
Technical Strategy * Partner with Information Technology on aligning the needs for the Business Intelligence technology ecosystem with the overall technology roadmap. * Accountable for driving the reference architecture, platform(s), and associated tools required to drive the data vision for Business Intelligence. * Accountable for ensuring that data governance rigor is enforced and managed effectively. * Custodian for the data quality of all Business Intelligence data assets used for decisioning. * Lead a team of solution architects, consultants and key partners in the delivery of pragmatic solutions, aligned to strategic program roadmaps. * Accountability for ensuring that current and proposed data management tools and platform support the overall vision of NAH's data strategy and conform to governance requirements. * Technical thought leaders and member of the data governance technology council. |
Communication * Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills while managing a diverse set of executive, business and clinical stakeholder's interests - translating business desires for functionality into technical plans, and technical constraints into business realities. * Serve as an enterprise resource for education surrounding data management, analytics and key quality and regulatory requirements. * Govern day-to-day fulfillment of data/report requests, including the management of escalations relating to data integrity and request fulfillment. * Facilitate sessions with technical and business partners to ensure that our data products and services align with expected results. |
Change Management * Champion data stewardship by working with data source owners and subject matter experts to regularly validate the completeness and accuracy of data. * Assists with the advancement of Data and Analytics education throughout the organization. |
Compliance/Safety * Responsible for reporting any safety-related incident in a timely fashion through the Midas/RDE tool; attends all safety-related training programs; performs work in a safe manner; monitors work environment for possible safety issues and ensures others are also performing work in a safe manner. * Stays current and complies with state and federal regulations/statutes and company policies that impact the employee's area of responsibility. * If required for the position, ensures all certifications and/or licenses are up-to-date and valid prior to expiration dates. * Completes all company mandatory modules and required job-specific training in the specified time frame. |
