Overview

The Security Supervisor's role is focused on management of Security and PBX staff. This is accomplished through direct mentoring of staff. The supervisor is responsible for development and retention of staff. He/she ensures quality within the department and overall organization. He/she develops and maintains performance objectives for the department, identifies process for continuous improvement and implements action plans for those items. The supervisor, under the direction of the department Director assists in planning and coordinating the day to day activities of the department. The supervisor acts in the absence of the Director when needed. The supervisor is available on call when assigned or in the absence of the Director.

Responsibilities

Patrol

* Inspects buildings and grounds and reports all relevant safety issues.

* Ensures personal safety of all hospital personnel, patients and visitors on campus.

* Responds to all disaster alerts.

* Provides support to other Security and PBX staff as needed.


 
People Management
* Responsible for conducting evaluations of all staff assigned as direct reports.

* Responsible for oversight of an effective training orientation process for new staff, monitoring performance levels, and ensuring continued education is provided within the department based on identified training needs.

* Oversees all aspects of patrol functions of the department, analyzes data to ensure proper coverage is in place where needed.

* Conducts frequent one on one meetings with staff assigned to the department.
 
Operations Management
* Works collaboratively with Human Resources and Risk Management involving safety and security issues.

* Frequently meets with other departments to ensure service needs are met.

* Conducts detailed investigations at the direction of the Director.

* Assist Director with departmental budget preparation.
 
Data Integrity
* Documents all safety related issues and reports them to the Director.

* Reviews and maintains all department documentation on at a weekly basis.

* Prepares documentation on all drill and disaster related events.

* Provides documentation of Security related issues to the Environment of Care Council.
 
Compliance/Safety
* Responsible for reporting any safety-related incident in a timely fashion through the Midas/RDE tool; attends all safety-related training programs; performs work in a safe manner; monitors work environment for possible safety issues and ensures others are also performing work in a safe manner including the use of any necessary weapons, (e.g. taser).

* Stays current and complies with state and federal regulations/statutes and company policies that impact the employee's area of responsibility.

* If required for the position, ensures all certifications and/or licenses are up-to-date and valid prior to expiration dates.

* Completes all company mandatory modules and required job-specific training in the specified time frame.

 

Qualifications

Education

High School Diploma or GED - Required Experience
 
Experience
5 years of law enforcement experience- Preferred

2 years of hospital experience- Preferred

 

Certification & Licensures 
Valid Arizona Driver's License with no moving violations within the prior 39 months- Required
BLS (American Heart Association)- Required

CPI- Required

IAHSS- Required

Complete/Maintain taser certification- Required

Fingerprint card- Required
