The Manager Corporate Compliance manages the daily operations of the compliance, privacy, and audit functions of the NAH Corporate Compliance department and provides support to Compliance Officers. The Manager reports to the Director Corporate Compliance/Deputy Chief Compliance Officer (DCCO) to support NAH leadership in the effective implementation and execution of the NAH Compliance Program ("Program"). The Manager leads a team of Compliance Officers in the daily implementation and administration of the Program, in alignment with organizational policies and compliance leadership direction. With the objective of controlling and minimizing NAH’s compliance risk, the Manager leads the team to gather relevant compliance information, maintain documentation, report data, and provide educational programs. The Manager ensures compliance investigations and/or audits are conducted effectively and in accordance with government requirements and NAH’s Just Culture principles. The Manager identifies and evaluates emerging compliance risks and regulations, and collaborates with the DCCO and NAH leadership to develop and implement strategies to mitigate those risks.
Core Responsibilities * Oversees the design, coordination, and performance of audits and/or investigations in accordance with compliance work plans and organizational need. * Oversees the management of the NAH Compliance Hotline cases. * Ensures audit, and/or investigation reports are clear, concise, and objective. Leads the team of Compliance Officers to ensure comprehensive analysis is provided to organizational leadership to develop compliant corrective actions to address risks with business objectives in mind. * Generates meaningful guidance and reports that support program and organizational effectiveness and efficiency with an understanding of NAH’s business objectives and KPIs. * Leads the management, tracking, and analysis of reported compliance and/or privacy concerns to identify emerging compliance risk areas. Maintains a comprehensive government reporting and CAP follow-up system. Designs and oversees complex monitoring activities and corrective action plans. * Oversees, coordinates reports, and ensures NAH’s progress in implementing and complying with system-wide compliance policies. * Ensures the design and delivery of compliance training across the NAH system. Training includes routine, mandatory, job/department specific, just-in-time, and other training. * Oversees the daily execution of core compliance and audit tasks, including exclusions/sanctions monitoring, conflict of interest, code of conduct updates, and audits. * Leads the review, updating, and maintenance of assigned compliance policies and procedures. * At the direction of compliance leadership, analyzes and identifies opportunities for integration of advanced compliance and auditing techniques and approaches, including the use of artificial intelligence (e.g., RPA, NLP, ML, etc.) and presents recommendations to the Director. * Ensures the Compliance Officers stay current on and comply with state and federal regulations. * Assesses and identifies inherent risks in NAH’s systems and recommends mitigating measures. |
* Ensure that reasonable safeguards are in place to protect PHI. * Maintains a high level of subject matter expertise on compliance topics, including privacy, compliance regulations, and billing/coding compliance issues. * Leads the drafting and sending of compliance and/or audit letters and responses to government and regulatory authorities. * Contributes to the development of annual compliance guiding documents, including the compliance, privacy, and audit plans. * Collaborates with DCCO/Dir Compliance to establish, communicate, and execute day-to-day and mid-term priorities for the Compliance Officers. |
Compliance/Safety * If required for position, ensures all certifications and/or licenses are up-to-date and valid prior to expiration dates. * Completes all company mandatory modules and required job specific training in the specified time frame. * Responsible for reporting any safety related incident in a timely fashion through the Safety Event tool; attends all safety related training programs; performs work in a safe manner; monitors work environment for possible safety issues and ensures others are also performing work in a safe manner. * Responsible for maintaining up-to-date knowledge of cybersecurity trends, developments, best practices and regulatory changes. |
