The Field Technician 2 provides an intermediate level of maintenance for satellite facilities owned/ leased by Northern Arizona Healthcare. Performs maintenance on grounds, equipment, and utilities as required by the preventative maintenance program, or as directed. This position requires a general knowledge of HVAC/R, electrical, plumbing, life safety, medical gas systems, masonry, carpentry, painting, and light construction. S/He also coordinates with contractors to maintain continuous operations for all facilities. Maintains records as appropriate for assignments and prepares requisitions while adhering to cost containment programs.
Operations * Completes and documents assigned work orders and repair calls in a timely manner so as to minimize any negative impact upon the patient care environment off and on the main campus as needed. * Performs minor repairs and makes modifications on electrical, life safety, mechanical and plumbing systems off and on the main campus as needed. * Collaborates with service providers to resolve issues/problems outside of the department's scope off and on the main campus as needed. * Assists in controlling fires, and both internal and external disasters off and on the main campus as needed. * Safely operates snow removal equipment and other motor vehicles off and on the main campus as needed. * Assists with equipment relocation and office moves off and on the main campus as needed. |
Equipment Maintenance * Performs and documents all preventive maintenance to ensure that all assigned equipment functions in an efficient manner. * Analyzes work order patterns and suggests new PM Routines to reduce downtime or calls for service. |
Code Response * Demonstrates the ability to remain calm and perform duties during high intensity/high stress situations and move quickly and safely though the hallways/stairwells in response to code calls. * Demonstrates knowledge of facility layout and department names. * Demonstrates the ability to read and follow the instructions on product labels and manuals. * Demonstrates the ability to work in cold and wet weather during snow removal. * Demonstrates the ability to maintain a clean work site, responsibly manage tools/equipment/vehicles, maintain common work areas to department expectations. |
General Maintenance Knowledge * Demonstrates knowledge of computer skills (email), work order system(s), and internet navigation, mechanical, life safety, electrical and plumbing systems. * Demonstrates the ability to use basic tools and diagnostic equipment. * Demonstrates the ability to read and follow the instructions on product labels and manuals. * Demonstrates the ability to read blueprints and schematics. |
Compliance/Safety * Responsible for reporting any safety-related incident in a timely fashion through the Midas/RDE tool; attends all safety-related training programs; performs work in a safe manner; monitors work environment for possible safety issues and ensures others are also performing work in a safe manner. * Stays current and complies with state and federal regulations/statutes and company policies that impact the employee's area of responsibility. * If required for the position, ensures all certifications and/or licenses are up-to-date and valid prior to expiration dates. * Completes all company mandatory modules and required job-specific training in the specified time frame. |
