Overview

The Associate Project Manager (PM) Laboratory is responsible for managing multiple small to medium projects from initiation through closing. They will manage single function teams with meetings and activities which bring distinct, specific projects to successful completion on time, within budget, while producing quality outcomes in support of laboratory objectives.

In this position, the PM will follow NAH project management methodology. They will demonstrate knowledge and usage of various project management tools and will ensure that all project documentation is up to date and communicated to relevant stakeholders on a timely basis. The Laboratory PM will perform at a skilled level in the areas of risk management, budget management, project scoping, scheduling, requirements gathering, resource and capacity planning, and communications management. They will monitor project direction to ensure that operational goals are on track.

The Laboratory PM will be an enthusiastic change agent and inspire the project team with a shared sense of purpose and be able to shift from the big picture to critical small detail thinking. The PM must be able to exhibit proactive critical thinking and problem solving to ensure project success through goal oriented.

Responsibilities

Team
* Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors to confirm partnership

* Facilitiate Project Meetings towards issue/risk identification as well as decision making

* Foster a culture based on accountability for all involved

* Ability to drive project team discussions to develop project details to create project tasks and schedules as well complete tasks on time.

* Effective in delegating assignments to team members best positioned to complete them.

 
Stakeholder
* Develop and maintain collaborative and trusted relationships with stakeholders

* Ensure customer satisfaction

* Contribute to overal PMO reporting to keep all parties informed

 
Project
* Manage projects as defined by NAH PMO process and complete associated documentation.

 
General
* Monitor project progress and escalate to management as appropriate where delays put project at risk.

* Track project costs in order to meet budget and communicate variances as identified

* Provide solutions to project-related issues/risks and suggestions for ongoing improvements

* Ensure focus on project outcomes to guarantee value is received

* Works independently and requires minimal input to work product, performing at intermediate PM level

 
Compliance/Safety
* Responsible for reporting any safety-related incident in a timely fashion through the Midas/RDE tool; attends all safety-related training programs; performs work in a safe manner; monitors work environment for possible safety issues and ensures others are also performing work in a safe manner.

* Stays current and complies with state and federal regulations/statutes and company policies that impact the employee's area of responsibility.

* If required for the position, ensures all certifications and/or licenses are up-to-date and valid prior to expiration dates.

* Completes all company mandatory modules and required job-specific training in the specified time frame.

Education
 
Bachelor's degree in a laboratory science or related field -preferred
 
Certification & Licensures
 
CAPM - Preferred
 
Experience
 
With bachelor's degree - Minimum of one (1) year experience managing small-medium projects- Required

Without bachelor's degree - Minimum of two (2) years' experience managing small-medium projects- Required
