The system security manager reports to and functions under the guidance of the system director of safety and security. Summary functions are to execute and monitor security functions, policies, procedures and ensure security personnel are functioning in a high-performing manner. This includes the functions of outsourced security personnel. The manager provides ongoing development and guidance to all security personnel including those in PBX, dispatch and access control.
Operational Management
* Ensure new team members are trained and onboarded according to security and NAH best practices and policy
* Monitor the performance of contracted security and courier services in relation to contract and service requirements
* Supports standardization of all security services across NAH
* Drives execution and monitoring of processes and policies designed to safeguard healthcare’s vulnerable population. This includes, but is not limited to, behavioral health, self injury, elopement, elderly and infants
* Execute human resources and staff development activities including hiring, coaching and disciplinary action
* Act as liaison between clinical staff and security.
* Ensure communication flows in a bidirectional fashion. Utilize huddles, communication board, 1-1 and ad-hoc team meetings
* Ensure shifts are adequately staffed and takes necessary action to fill shift vacancies
* Ensures reports are completed in a timely fashion and critical events are communicated appropriately to necessary personnel and leadership
People Management
* Responsible for conducting evaluations of all staff assigned as direct reports.
* Responsible for oversight of an effective training orientation process for new staff, monitoring performance levels, and ensuring continued education is provided within the department based on identified training needs.
* Oversees all aspects of patrol functions of the department, analyzes data to ensure proper coverage is in place where needed.
* Conducts frequent one on one meetings with staff assigned to the department.
Financial
* Assist in the planning of annual budgets
* Operate within annual budget limitations
Compliance/Safety
* Responsible for reporting any safety-related incident in a timely fashion through the Midas/RDE tool; attends all safety-related training programs; performs work in a safe manner; monitors work environment for possible safety issues and ensures others are also performing work in a safe manner.
* Stays current and complies with state and federal regulations/statutes and company policies that impact the employee's area of responsibility.
* If required for the position, ensures all certifications and/or licenses are up-to-date and valid prior to expiration dates.
* Completes all company mandatory modules and required job-specific training in the specified time frame.
Education
High School Diploma or GED - Required
Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice or related field - Preferred
Certification & Licensures
CPR within 90 days from date of hire
AVADE- CPI or similar de-escalation certification within 90 days from date of hire - Preferred
Fingerprint Clearance card- Required
Experience
5 years of law enforcement experience- Preferred
3 years in law enforcement leadership role - Required
