Overview

The Healthcare Simulation Program Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining high-quality healthcare simulations to enhance clinical training, patient safety, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in healthcare education, simulation technology, and program management, ensuring that all simulation activities align with institutional goals and industry best practices.

Responsibilities

Program Leadership
* Oversee the development and execution of simulation-based training programs for healthcare professionals, including curriculum design, scenario development, and learner assessment.
 
Simulation Technology Management
* Evaluate, implement, and maintain simulation equipment, software, and virtual platforms to support training initiatives.
 
Interdisciplinary Collaboration
* Work closely with clinical educators, faculty, physicians, nurses, and healthcare administrators to integrate simulation into educational and operational strategies.
 
Training & Facilitation
* Conduct simulation sessions, including running high-fidelity manikins, standardized patient programs, and task trainers.
 
Process Improvement
* Identify opportunities to enhance the effectiveness of simulation programs, incorporating feedback and data-driven insights.
 
Budget & Resource Management
* Oversee budgeting, procurement, and maintenance of simulation equipment and resources.
 
Compliance/Safety
* Adheres to regulatory and organizational standards affecting patient care and safety as well as all hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Practices in a safe, high quality and cost effective manner.

* Stays current and complies with state and federal regulations/statutes and company policies that impact the employees area of responsibility.

* If required for position, ensures all certifications and/or licenses are up-to-date and valid prior to expiration dates.

* Completes all company mandatory modules and required job specific training in the specified time frame.

* Maintains timely and accurate documentation of assessments, interventions, EMR entries, and patient responses.

* Responsible for reporting any safety related incident in a timely fashion through the Midas/RDE tool; attends all safety related training programs; performs work in a safe manner; monitors work environment for possible safety issues and ensures others are also performing work in a safe manner.

Qualifications

Education
 
Bachelor’s required in Healthcare Simulation, Nursing, Medicine, Healthcare Administration, Education, or a related field. - Required

Master’s degree in Healthcare Simulation, Nursing, Medicine, Healthcare Administration, Education, or a related field. - Preferred
 
Certification & Licensures
 
Certification in healthcare simulation (e.g., CHSE, CHSOS) - Preferred
 
Experience
 
Minimum 2 years of experience in healthcare simulation, medical education, or clinical training.

Proficiency with simulation equipment (e.g., Laerdal, CAE, SimMan, Gaumard), virtual simulation platforms, and Learning Management Systems (LMS).

Project Management: Strong experience in program management, curriculum development, and evaluation of training outcomes. Experience with Agile or traditional project management methodologies is a plus.

Communication & Leadership: Ability to engage with diverse healthcare professionals, lead simulation teams, and present program outcomes effectively.

Experience in interprofessional education and team-based healthcare training.

Knowledge of emerging technologies in healthcare simulation, such as VR/AR and AI-driven simulation models.

Experience in securing grants or funding for simulation programs.
