The Nurse Resident is responsible for providing and supervising direct and indirect total nursing care responsibilities to identified age-specific groups. Nurse Residents will be under the direct supervision of a preceptor for all principal duties and responsibilities during the training program with eventual transition to independent practice after successful training program completion. Upon completion of the yearlong (12 months) nurse resident program the nurse resident will transition to the RN job description.

The Communication Specialist/Technician, under the supervision of the Communication Center Supervisor, is responsible for the coordination of air and ground transports, office/clerical tasks, and preliminary billing tasks. Overall communications are via phone, radio, verbal, text and written word. The Communication Specialist/Technician will be able to think and function independently as well as project a positive image as a customer representative at all times.

The Transporter is responsible for providing patient transportation in accordance with the Nursing Plan of Care and Medical/Surgical Standards of Care and Practice. The Transporter may provide basic life support to the ill or injured patient while being transported to and from departments within the hospital. S/he performs other duties as assigned or directed that are within the scope and abilities of the individual's training. The Transporter may interact with patients and/or families, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.

The PCT, including all hospital units and departments and the Float/Flex Pool PCT, under the supervision of the charge nurse, clinical manager, and/or director, is responsible for assisting in patient care, documentation and supply management. PCTs keep the unit supplied, clean, and organized. Additionally, the PCT may function in an office assistant role and answer the telephone, answer questions within their capabilities the patient or their support individuals may have, and perform data entry and data collection.   The PCT in the discharge unit is for assisting discharged patients, coordinating discharge logistics and assisting patients in utilizing resources and accessing health related services.

The Greeter acts as a receptionist at the entrance desks and promotes a customer service focus at all times while greeting our customers. The Laboratory Assistant is responsible for the collection and receipt of specimens, proper entry into the LIS computer, preparation of samples for analytical testing, and the distribution of specimens to the analytical testing areas. Responsible for arranging daily activities based on urgency of requests. This position is also responsible for point of care testing as assigned, and therapeutic phlebotomy procedures. The Medication History Technician is responsible for gathering, verifying, and documenting patients' home medication regimens. S/he conducts interviews with patients and families in a professional, thorough and timely manner. S/he networks with retail pharmacies, care givers, assisted living facilities, and other related establishments; gathers the most comprehensive list of home medications for physician reconciliation; is responsible for allergy documentation, last dose verification, and compliance status. S/he identifies discrepancies within medication profiles including indications, dosages, and frequencies.
