The Staffing Specialist, under the supervision of the Director and Clinical Manager is responsible for performing scheduling, staffing, and clerical duties to support the needs of NAH.

Ensuring the achievement of Northern Arizona Healthcare’s mission, the Charge RN, under the supervision of the Clinical Manager/Director, is responsible for overseeing and directing the patient care activities on the unit during a worked shift. When providing leadership to the department, the Charge RN acts as an advocate for the shift, making sure the Clinical Manager/Director are aware of the unique needs of the shift. The Charge RN provides leadership for nursing personnel by being a team leader, serving as a preceptor, and being an active member of the health care team. The Charge RN practices within the ANA Scope of Practice, the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses and the standards of his/ or her specialty.

The Blood Bank Manager is a highly experienced and detail-oriented professional responsible for overseeing and managing the Blood Bank Services across multiple sites within the Northern Arizona Healthcare system. This role involves strategic planning, project management, personnel training, recruitment, process improvement, and effective communication across departments. The role requires a high degree of collaboration with laboratory leads, Supervisors, Managers and the Laboratory Director with the ability to coordinate necessary people, resources, and time. The Blood Bank Manager ensures the highest standards of blood banking operations, compliance with regulatory requirements, and a focus on continuous improvement. This role does not have direct supervisory responsibilities but must engage employees for project and performance work.

The practice of Occupational Therapy shall include assessment, treatment, planning, implementing, education, communication and demonstration of leadership to address the needs of patients and their families as well as to foster a positive working relationship among professionals and ancillary staff. This person may be caring for infants, children, adolescents and/or senior patients and will have the knowledge and skills to care for the physical and developmental needs of these populations. The Occupational Therapist will practice within defined standards of care and direct the practice of support staff in order to achieve the patient's functional goals. S/he is expected to communicate effectively with other professional and support staff in order to promote a positive, problem-solving environment.

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) Clinic, under the supervision of the Practice Supervisor or Manager, nurse, therapist, lead or Director, is responsible for assisting in patient care, documentation and supply management in the clinic or outpatient department. S/he may collaborate with the Medical Assistant to support the provider(s) in providing patient care.   The PCT Clinic will also work to keep the unit supplied, clean, and organized. The PCT Clinic may function in an office assistant role within the clinic and/or department and answers the telephone, answers questions within their capabilities the patient or their support individuals may have. S/he follows all policies and procedures of Northern Arizona Healthcare. They perform or assist with procedures that fall within the scope of practice of a PCT in addition to office assistant duties. The PCT Clinic may be caring for infants, children, adolescents, adults and geriatrics populations.

Under general supervision of the provider, the Medical Assistant (MA) Certified works with members of the departmental health care team to provide assistance to providers, patients, and their families ensuring smooth work and patient flow. The MA Certified, under the supervision of the provider, is responsible for conducting initial and on-going assessments of the patient and working with the provider on their procedures and/or exams. This includes but is not limited to, reviewing the patient medical record and conducting per-visit interview with patient, documenting medical history and assessing need for referrals and prescription renewals. The MA Certified also assists in the coordination of clerical information to provide patient care and assists with patient follow up.   In Community Care Management, the MA also assists in following up with health management/care plans with both patients and providers. The MA works closely with medical providers, primary care teams and other agencies to improve communication, services, patient care and outcomes. This position's work location is on site only.

This position is responsible to transport patients who may include infants, children, adolescents, adults and or elderly adults, to and from various areas throughout the facility in a timely manner. In addition, this position will assist with documentation in the healthcare record, conducting patient research, supply management and general assistance to support the imaging team. As a member of the team, this position will also perform a variety of clerical duties, while providing assistance to patients, technologists and radiologists. This position demonstrates excellent communication skills and effectively works with a multidisciplinary staff, patients, and their caregivers.

The Medical Scribe, working within a clinical practice, will assist physicians with their nonclinical duties. S/he will extemporaneously transcribe the patient’s medical record for the physician, assist the physician in retrieving old medical records, lab results, and radiology results. The Medical Scribe assists the provider with other clerical operations that would support his/her function and efficiency in non-clinical patient care.

The Manager Chaplaincy provides a support system to patients and families, acts as a spiritual counselor to staff members and serves as a spiritual liaison to the local community. S/he manages the chaplain program, internal spiritual care, and religious services for NAH in support of meeting NAH mission, vision, and strategic objectives.

The Medical Office Receptionist undertakes a variety of day-to-day office and clerical tasks to ensure that office operations run smoothly and are successful in supporting other business activities. The Medical Office Receptionist obtains insurance information, collects payments and works with the scheduling system as well as acts as an interdepartmental staff liaison between staff, providers and customers to ensure professional service and promote customer relations. The Medical Office Receptionist is able to function with minimal supervision and demonstrates appropriate decision making skills within established guidelines, maintains strict confidentiality, and utilizes discretion at all times. This position's work location is on site only.

The Nursery Care Technician in the Special Care Nursery, under the supervision of the charge nurse, clinical manager, and/or director is primarily responsible for assisting in patient care, documentation and supply management. They will perform or assist with procedures that fall within the scope of practice of a Nursery Technician in the Special Care Nursery in addition to performing necessary administrative duties. The Nursery Care Technician may be assisting infants, children, adolescents, adults and geriatrics.
