Ensuring the achievement of Northern Arizona Healthcare’s mission, the Charge RN, under the supervision of the Clinical
Manager/Director, is responsible for overseeing and directing the patient care activities on the unit during a worked shift.
When providing leadership to the department, the Charge RN acts as an advocate for the shift, making sure the Clinical Manager/Director are aware of the unique needs of the shift. The Charge RN provides leadership for nursing personnel by being a team leader, serving as a preceptor, and being an active member of the health care team. The Charge RN practices within the ANA Scope of Practice, the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses and the standards of his/ or her specialty.

The Nurse Education Specialist functions in a point-of-care, hands-on role as a nurse expert, educator, and consultant for assigned departments in the clinical development and education of nursing and other NAH team members. This position provides educational support for organizational safety and improvement initiatives. Nurse Education Specialist works in partnership with leadership to support onboarding, staff development, and promotion of practice excellence. The Nurse Education Specialist also functions to aid in preparation for regulatory and accreditation reviews.
Directs and monitors personnel in the performance of the anatomic pathology departmental duties ensuring quality work and timely completion in accordance with laboratory/hospital protocol and regulatory standards. Supervises and provides direction for staff and department regarding daily operations, human resource management, and financial stewardship.
