This position is responsible for providing patient care and assists health care providers in performing assigned patient procedures within
scope of training. Position receives general supervision from RN, APN, PA, or Physician in providing patient care.
Ensuring the achievement of Northern Arizona Healthcare’s mission, the Registered Nurse is accountable for the coordination of care for patients and their families including direct care, patient and family education and discharge planning. Flagstaff Medical Center is the transfer center, Level 1 trauma center, and tertiary care destination for Northern Arizona with a catchment that extends from past the New Mexico border to the California border, and brings challenging and interesting cases to our mid-sized hospital and city. The Medical Office Receptionist undertakes a variety of day-to-day office and clerical tasks to ensure that office operations run smoothly and are successful in supporting other business activities. The Medical Office Receptionist obtains insurance information, collects payments and works with the scheduling system as well as acts as an interdepartmental staff liaison between staff, providers and customers to ensure professional service and promote customer relations. The Medical Office Receptionist is able to function with minimal supervision and demonstrates appropriate decision making skills within established guidelines, maintains strict confidentiality, and utilizes discretion at all times.

The Laboratory Assistant is responsible for the collection and receipt of specimens, proper entry into the LIS computer, preparation of samples for analytical testing, and the distribution of specimens to the analytical testing areas. Responsible for arranging daily activities based on urgency of requests. This position is also responsible for point of care testing as assigned, and therapeutic phlebotomy procedures. The Laboratory Assistant is responsible for the clerical aspects of post analytical testing and interacting with others using a variety of communication tools. Must handle bio-hazardous and infectious material while following universal precautions and OSHA guidelines.
This position is located in NAH Laboratory Departments only and not in NAH Medical Group Primary Care/Family Practice Clinics.

PCTs keep the unit supplied, clean, and organized. Additionally, the PCT may function in an office assistant role and answer the telephone, answer questions within their capabilities the patient or their support individuals may have, and perform data entry and data collection.
The PCT in the discharge unit is for assisting discharged patients, coordinating discharge logistics and assisting patients in utilizing resources and accessing health related services.
The PCT in the Labor Delivery and Post Partum Breastfeeding Center does not provide direct patient care.
The PCT follows all policies and procedures of Northern Arizona Healthcare. They perform or assist with procedures that fall within the scope of practice of a PCT, and work closely with all members of the interdisciplinary team. The PCT may be caring for infants, children, adolescents, adults and geriatrics populations.
The Float/Flex Pool PCT may be asked to work on any unit in the hospital that is in need of a PCT, change departments during a shift or be asked to work as a Patient Safety Attendant based on need whereupon the PCT duties will cease if assigned to sit 1:1 with a patient; and must complete the same required documentation as a PSA. Call will be required for the Float/Flex Pool PCT.

The Echo Technician 2 performs testing procedures consisting of a variety ultrasounds as required by the facility under the supervision of the Physician. S/he may provide service to patients, from adolescent, adult and geriatric populations.

The Diagnostic/Xray Radiology Technologist performs diagnostic radiographic procedures using stationary and mobile radiographic equipment according to established standards. This position provides basic patient care, processes films, maintains equipment, transports patients and prepares and maintains documentation.
Diagnostic/Xray Technologist 1 works in the following environments predominately: outpatient, pain/palliative care, children's health, orthopedics, portable and inpatient, and may work in less than three of the following: fluro, o-arm, trauma, operating room and dexascan.

The practice of Occupational Therapy shall include assessment, treatment, planning, implementing, education, communication and demonstration of leadership to address the needs of patients and their families as well as to foster a positive working relationship among professionals and ancillary staff. This person may be caring for infants, children, adolescents and/or senior patients and will have the knowledge and skills to care for the physical and developmental needs of these populations. The Occupational Therapist will practice within defined standards of care and direct the practice of support staff in order to achieve the patient's functional goals. S/he is expected to communicate effectively with other professional and support staff in order to promote a positive, problem-solving environment.
The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for the proper care and handling of all general and specialty surgical instrumentation which includes cleaning, decontamination, identification, assembly, troubleshooting, packaging, distribution, and sterilization.

The Therapist Assistant (OTA/PTA), under the supervision of the department Director, provides direct patient care for inpatients and outpatients by utilizing appropriate knowledge and skills in collaboration with other members of the health care team. A Therapist Assistant must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served. S/he is expected to carry out programs of corrective exercises and treatments for assigned patients, as determined by evaluation performed by a Therapist.
