The PCT, including all hospital units and departments and the Float/Flex Pool PCT, under the supervision of the charge nurse, clinical manager, and/or director, is responsible for assisting in patient care, documentation and supply management. PCTs keep the unit supplied, clean, and organized. Additionally, the PCT may function in an office assistant role and answer the telephone, answer questions within their capabilities the patient or their support individuals may have, and perform data entry and data collection.   The PCT in the discharge unit is for assisting discharged patients, coordinating discharge logistics and assisting patients in utilizing resources and accessing health related services.   The PCT in the Labor Delivery and Post Partum Breastfeeding Center does not provide direct patient care.   The PCT follows all policies and procedures of Northern Arizona Healthcare. They perform or assist with procedures that fall within the scope of practice of a PCT, and work closely with all members of the interdisciplinary team. The PCT may be caring for infants, children, adolescents, adults and geriatrics populations.   The Float/Flex Pool PCT may be asked to work on any unit in the hospital that is in need of a PCT, change departments during a shift or be asked to work as a Patient Safety Attendant based on need whereupon the PCT duties will cease if assigned to sit 1:1 with a patient; and must complete the same required documentation as a PSA. Call will be required for the Float/Flex Pool PCT.   This position's location is on site only.

The Therapist Assistant (OTA/PTA), under the supervision of the department Director, provides direct patient care for inpatients and outpatients by utilizing appropriate knowledge and skills in collaboration with other members of the health care team. A Therapist Assistant must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served. S/he is expected to carry out programs of corrective exercises and treatments for assigned patients, as determined by evaluation performed by a Therapist. The Patient Access Representative is responsible for the verification and collection of patient demographic and insurance information by direct data entry to the electronic medical record during the scheduling/pre-admit or admission process prior to discharge. S/he conducts an interview with the patient or authorized representative to secure information specific to requested services; accurately documenting the discussion and other registration/scheduling activities in the encounter.

The Program Counselor assists patients in meeting their bio-psycho-social needs by means of support services and therapeutic techniques. These will include but will not be limited to assessment, consultation, teaching, support services for patients and families, crisis intervention, group therapy, individual therapy, family therapy, interdisciplinary treatment planning, and discharge planning.

The Laboratory Technical Supervisor is responsible for the system wide technical supervision and oversight of all NAH laboratory processes within a specific department to include, but not limited to, the daily workflow, troubleshooting equipment issues, reviewing quality control, reviewing technical work, training and assessing competency and assist the manager/ director with regulatory preparation and review of procedures/policies/proficiency testing as requested. This position also serves as a representative to external stakeholders and partners for overall workflow needs regarding the department.
