The OR Scrub Tech, under the supervision of Director and/or Clinical Manager/Coordinator, is responsible for preparing supplies and equipment for interventions, using appropriate techniques. Provides technical services as assigned and directed. The OR Scrub Tech assists and/or performs patient procedures that are within the scope of their unit specific Skills Summation. This position works in an in-patient / hospital based environment.

When providing care, Registered Nurses follow the process of assessing, nursing diagnosing, outcome identification, planning, implementing and evaluation as the basis for the delivery of care. The Registered Nurse provides leadership for ancillary personnel by being a team leader, serving as a preceptor, and being an active member of the healthcare team. The nurse practices within the ANA Scope of Practice, the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses and the standards of his/ or her specialty.

S/he provides technical services as assigned and directed, and assists with procedures. The CVOR Tech 2 assists and/or performs patient procedures that are within the scope of their unit specific Skills Summation. S/he seeks assistance and support when necessary, assists in data collection, organizes those aspects of patient care for which s/he is responsible, and maintains accountability for own practice and those functions delegated to the Technician. Within a specified work period, s/he provides care that is consistent with overall admission to post-discharge plan. S/he practices within accepted ethical and legal parameters.
