The PCT, including all hospital units and departments and the Float/Flex Pool PCT, under the supervision of the charge nurse, clinical manager, and/or director, is responsible for assisting in patient care, documentation and supply management. PCTs keep the unit supplied, clean, and organized. Additionally, the PCT may function in an office assistant role and answer the telephone, answer questions within their capabilities the patient or their support individuals may have, and perform data entry and data collection.
The PCT in the discharge unit is for assisting discharged patients, coordinating discharge logistics and assisting patients in utilizing resources and accessing health related services.
The CVOR Tech 2, under the supervision of Director and/or Clinical Coordinator, is responsible for preparing supplies and equipment for interventions, using appropriate techniques. S/he provides technical services as assigned and directed, and assists with procedures. The CVOR Tech 2 assists and/or performs patient procedures that are within the scope of their unit specific Skills Summation.
