The PCT, including all hospital units and departments and the Float/Flex Pool PCT, under the supervision of the charge nurse, clinical manager, and/or director, is responsible for assisting in patient care, documentation and supply management. PCTs keep the unit supplied, clean, and organized. Additionally, the PCT may function in an office assistant role and answer the telephone, answer questions within their capabilities the patient or their support individuals may have, and perform data entry and data collection.
The PCT in the discharge unit is for assisting discharged patients, coordinating discharge logistics and assisting patients in utilizing resources and accessing health related services.
Under the general direction of the Director of Patient Safety and Accreditation, the Patient Safety RN Specialist is responsible for advancing the patient safety program in it's mission to eliminate avoidable patient harm. He/she will perform daily screening, initial triage and referral of safety reported through the Vigilanz reporting system. He/she investigates patient safety events through expeditious fact gathering (medical chart review and interviews), and facilitates improvement projects, as assigned by the Director of Patient Safety and Accreditation. Reporting to the Vice President of Philanthropy, this position works to develop research and prospect strategies to build an effective pipeline of potential donors to Northern Arizona Healthcare. This position is also in charge of the Office of Philanthropy’s donor database and Raiser’s Edge NXT.
