The Medical Office Receptionist undertakes a variety of day-to-day office and clerical tasks to ensure that office operations run smoothly and are successful in supporting other business activities. The Medical Office Receptionist obtains insurance information, collects payments and works with the scheduling system as well as acts as an interdepartmental staff liaison between staff, providers and customers to ensure professional service and promote customer relations. The Medical Office Receptionist is able to function with minimal supervision and demonstrates appropriate decision making skills within established guidelines, maintains strict confidentiality, and utilizes discretion at all times.

Under general supervision of the provider, the Medical Assistant (MA) Certified works with members of the departmental health care team to provide assistance to providers, patients, and their families ensuring smooth work and patient flow. The MA Certified, under the supervision of the provider, is responsible for conducting initial and on-going assessments of the patient and working with the provider on their procedures and/or exams. This includes but is not limited to, reviewing the patient medical record and conducting per-visit interview with patient, documenting medical history and assessing need for referrals and prescription renewals. The MA Certified also assists in the coordination of clerical information to provide patient care and assists with patient follow up.
In Community Care Management, the MA also assists in following up with health management/care plans with both patients and providers. The MA works closely with medical providers, primary care teams and other agencies to improve communication, services, patient care and outcomes.

The PCT, including all hospital units and departments and the Float/Flex Pool PCT, under the supervision of the charge nurse, clinical manager, and/or director, is responsible for assisting in patient care, documentation and supply management. PCTs keep the unit supplied, clean, and organized. Additionally, the PCT may function in an office assistant role and answer the telephone, answer questions within their capabilities the patient or their support individuals may have, and perform data entry and data collection.
The PCT in the discharge unit is for assisting discharged patients, coordinating discharge logistics and assisting patients in utilizing resources and accessing health related services.
The PCT in the Labor Delivery and Post Partum Breastfeeding Center does not provide direct patient care.
The PCT follows all policies and procedures of Northern Arizona Healthcare. They perform or assist with procedures that fall within the scope of practice of a PCT, and work closely with all members of the interdisciplinary team. The PCT may be caring for infants, children, adolescents, adults and geriatrics populations.
The Float/Flex Pool PCT may be asked to work on any unit in the hospital that is in need of a PCT, change departments during a shift or be asked to work as a Patient Safety Attendant based on need whereupon the PCT duties will cease if assigned to sit 1:1 with a patient; and must complete the same required documentation as a PSA. Call will be required for the Float/Flex Pool PCT.

The Operating Room and Sterile Processing Department Sterile Processing Technician Liaison will be the main conduit of information and will work to coordinate and have oversight of the daily activities between the Operating Room (OR) and Sterile Processing Department (SPD) to facilitate proficient case flow. This position provides support and direction for case cart assembly on a daily basis and procures instruments from the OR Sterile Instrument Room. This role monitors inventory and replacement of all surgical instrumentation in the surgical services department. This position is responsible to form all duties of a sterile processing technician, including taking on the responsibilities of a surgical specialty, including maintenance of inventory, instruments, and education in coordination with the Surgical Specialty Lead, and solves complicated problems between Sterile Processing and the Operating Room.
