This position's primary and majority of responsibilities is focused surgical scheduling and chart audits, determining billable procedures, supplies and implants and enters charges in support of accurate billing. This position is responsible for surgical scheduling and is responsible for the verification and collection of patient demographic and procedural information by direct data entry to the Cerner Scheduling systems. This position liaisons with provider/surgeon offices to secure information specific to the requested services, accurately documenting the data in the encounter database, schedule book and iQueue software. This role also performs a variety of secretarial and administrative duties and support for the department, providers, staff and the director.

The Endoscopy Technician, under the supervision of the Clinical Manager and Charge RN or Clinical Coordinator, is responsible for preparing supplies and equipment for interventions, using appropriate techniques. The Endoscopy Technician assists and/or performs patient procedures that are within the scope of their unit specific Skills Summation. The RN Cath Lab, under the supervision of the Clinical Manager and or Charge RN/ Cath lab lead designee, conducts initial and on-going assessments, develops the patient plan of care through the use of Clinical Pathways, directs and delivers patient care, patient and family education, identifies and corrects variances from the patient's Clinical Pathway, and completes discharge planning. S/he will care for adults and geriatric patient groups.
The PCT, including all hospital units and departments and the Float/Flex Pool PCT, under the supervision of the charge nurse, clinical manager, and/or director, is responsible for assisting in patient care, documentation and supply management. PCTs keep the unit supplied, clean, and organized. Additionally, the PCT may function in an office assistant role and answer the telephone, answer questions within their capabilities the patient or their support individuals may have, and perform data entry and data collection.
The PCT in the discharge unit is for assisting discharged patients, coordinating discharge logistics and assisting patients in utilizing resources and accessing health related services.
