The Emergency Medical Tech (EMT) provides basic life support to the ill or injured patient in the pre-hospital setting. Patient care is provided in accordance with the rules and regulations approved by federal, state, regional, and local authorities. This position may provide care to neonates, infants, children, adolescents, adults, and seniors. This person will have knowledge and skills to care for the physical and developmental needs across the life span. This position is responsible for operating hydraulic gurneys and power lifts, emergency and non-emergency ambulance driving, and the use of portable ambulance medical equipment.

The Nursery Care Technician in the Special Care Nursery, under the supervision of the charge nurse, clinical manager, and/or director is primarily responsible for assisting in patient care, documentation and supply management. S/he is expected to communicate effectively with other professional and support staff in order to promote a positive, problem-solving environment.

The Case Management Assistant provides transition support for post-acute care needs, and preventative outpatient services in order to support appropriate delivery of care. He/She serve as an integrated team member to ensure patients achieve a safe and timely discharge from the acute care to the outpatient setting. Responsibilities center around support to the hospital and community-based service requests from the nursing staff, Care Coordinators, Call Center, Care Management, Therapists, Hospitalists, or private physician's practices in the PathfinderHealth ACO.

The Medical Office Receptionist undertakes a variety of day-to-day office and clerical tasks to ensure that office operations run smoothly and are successful in supporting other business activities. The Medical Office Receptionist obtains insurance information, collects payments and works with the scheduling system as well as acts as an interdepartmental staff liaison between staff, providers and customers to ensure professional service and promote customer relations. The Medical Office Receptionist is able to function with minimal supervision and demonstrates appropriate decision making skills within established guidelines, maintains strict confidentiality, and utilizes discretion at all times. Under general supervision of the provider, the Medical Assistant (MA) Certified works with members of the departmental health care team to provide assistance to providers, patients, and their families ensuring smooth work and patient flow. The MA Certified, under the supervision of the provider, is responsible for conducting initial and on-going assessments of the patient and working with the provider on their procedures and/or exams. This includes but is not limited to, reviewing the patient medical record and conducting per-visit interview with patient, documenting medical history and assessing need for referrals and prescription renewals. The MA Certified also assists in the coordination of clerical information to provide patient care and assists with patient follow up.   In Community Care Management, the MA also assists in following up with health management/care plans with both patients and providers. The MA works closely with medical providers, primary care teams and other agencies to improve communication, services, patient care and outcomes. This position's work location is on site only.

This position is responsible for providing patient care and assists health care providers in performing assigned patient procedures within scope of training. Position receives general supervision from RN, APN, PA, or Physician in providing patient care.
