The PCT, including all hospital units and departments and the Float/Flex Pool PCT, under the supervision of the charge nurse, clinical manager, and/or director, is responsible for assisting in patient care, documentation and supply management. PCTs keep the unit supplied, clean, and organized. Additionally, the PCT may function in an office assistant role and answer the telephone, answer questions within their capabilities the patient or their support individuals may have, and perform data entry and data collection.   The PCT in the discharge unit is for assisting discharged patients, coordinating discharge logistics and assisting patients in utilizing resources and accessing health related services.

The RN Cath Lab, under the supervision of the Clinical Manager and or Charge RN/ Cath lab lead designee, conducts initial and on-going assessments, develops the patient plan of care through the use of Clinical Pathways, directs and delivers patient care, patient and family education, identifies and corrects variances from the patient's Clinical Pathway, and completes discharge planning.
